What does it take to start a new life working as hairdressers in Australia? Thats what I’m curious to learn all about in todays episode, as I know that from the many messages I receive from you all, a big number of you are interested in exploring the opportunities of taking your hairdressing skills Down Under.

Whether you’re considering working as a hairdresser in Australia as a permanent thing or just for some timeout travelling, then this podcast is a must listen for you! It’s packed full with great insights on everything you will need to know on what it takes to move to Australia working as a hairdresser. To help us understand all of the in’s and outs of this, is Jack Pollard and Jasmine Redstone.

A hairdressing couple originally from Croydon, England they took the massive steps of emigrating out to Australia after 2 years travelling. They will be walking us through their own experiences of moving out to Australia permanently that includes learning more on the complexity and costs of obtaining visas, getting residency, the lifestyle you can expect as a hairdresser, and how as new Australian residents they have been able to open their new hairdressing business, Polly and Stone in Sydney.

Formerly working at the Rush London, Jack was the winner of the L’Oréal Young Colourist Trophy for London and a year later, Jasmine took the trophy for Newcomer of the Year 2011/12 at the British Hairdressing Awards. Many thought they were crazy to walk away from the UK at such a peak time in their hairdressing careers, but it was something they needed to do, and we get to hear why today.
