The hair industry has changed so quickly in ways never witnessed before! So what does this mean to be a young hairdresser who’s part of this new hairdressing landscape in 2019? At 21 years of age, todays guest Lizzie Williams represents the new heartbeat of young hairdressers. With social media and digital platforms in the palm of their hands no matter where they go, it’s well documented how this has played a major part in the way they operate. Let’s find out how!

Following on from last weeks episode with Sean Dawson, we’ll be keeping on theme by discussing young hairdressers. Regularly coming out in many episodes is that we need to keep young hairdressers engaged. So when all asked “How?”, they nearly all reply with education and competitions. Well this is exactly what Lizzie suggests too when advising her fellow peers. Little wonder when you look at how Lizzie’s career is excelling so quickly.

A senior stylist at KH Hair Salons in Hinkley, Lizzie defines all what it is means to be an engaged young hairdresser and the rewards that this can bring. Part of the Wella Generation Now team 18/19, Lizzie was shortlisted as a ‘Rising Star’ 2019 finalist at Creative Head’s Most Wanted/It awards. But be aware that this podcast comes with a public warning that contains words that may offend some; hard work, continual development and commitment!

If you want to get into the mindset of what it means to be a young hairdresser in 2019, then you won’t be disappointed with today’s episode. There’s bucket loads of this from a well balanced young hairdresser who’s going places. And if you’re a young hairdresser yourself, then take on board what Lizzie shares – she a voice of wise words way above her tender years. Now time to get to it by hitting that play button!
